| Hello guys, I have heard that some player are using another basis for their stands than the 1 to 1 as shown in the FoW publications (and I saw one british army on the FlamesOfWar site with three figs per rifle teams) . That is that three figs are used for each rifle team, one fig for the leader stand, two figs for the MG/SW stands instead of the old bunch... This would help save loads of figs to create bigger armies AND help speeding up the painting process.
So, simple question: what do you do? Reduced numbers or 1-1?

| I wouldn't do it. I have TOO much fun painting the little beggars and I like a lot of figurines in my armies. So no. 1-1 for me. | |

| I’m with sauron on this one. 1 trooper on a big base just looks silly to me. Granted, I’m more of a painter than a gamer, but I think your army has to look cool on a battlefield.
Ok, it’s cheaper and faster, but if you want cheap and fast, why play miniature games? There’s plenty of fast and cheap board games with a WWII theme.

I keep an eye on adaptability with other games - current trade is more like 3 troops on a stand - and the leader is on the small stand. Agree with your view but advocate for the devil sometimes: like, froml picures I have, two soldiers (one gunner and one ammo carrier) would be enough to man a solothurn antitank rifle... Pedro

| Well, I also use the amount as in the books... mailny because, as in any other game, players are familiar with several concepts. Actually, I don't remember where, but I saw an option of using 1 more fig to mark an "overstrength" team. This -1/+1 could be confusing. But Pedro would certainly like to build an army with a company ! No objections sir, just add a drm to all your fires and checks Well Pedro, I see you're still an ASL fan (1 guy for a leader, 3 guys for a squad, etc) | |

| I also use the same amount of troops per basis. Now having rules, of overstrengh teams could also be nice. | |

| I User 4 troopers in stead of 5. It doesn't make a lot of difference on the table but it speeds things up just enough when painting.
The command teams are based with 3 a piece.

| I use 4 troops for "infatry" and 3 for command... command would be better 2 due the size of the base...but the fun is in making different poses for different groups... An assult platoon could use "assault pose" officers, a gun platoon an officer kneeling or looking at maps...some convertions could do the trick...
But then it's an hobby don't you think?
