QUESTION...? Empty
PostSubject: QUESTION...?   QUESTION...? EmptyMon 7 Aug - 9:52

Yesterday Some question were made about american Halftracks and jeeps..

I think that we clariefied....

M2 M3 HALFTRACK and JEEPS...have optional trasport this means that if u want to shoot you have to STAY in the Haltrack or the JEEP to do it...if you dismount...no shooting...

M3A1 ARMOURED CARS have machine gun operators so when the troops dismount they are still able to shoot...THIS IS WHAT DAVE (KURNIK) and I interpreted...

Then for ASSAULTS...can u make an assault with the HALFTRACKS AND THE TROOPS ON BOARD OR NOT....? Suspect

I know there is the german mounted assault but it's for transports... all kind of transports.. so GUYS let me know what do you think because Dave and I couldn't figure that out..... Suspect scratch study

I know there is the german mounted assault but it's for transports... all kind of transports...

P.72 Transport in Assaults :

Transport teams (M2, M3 & M3A1) cannot charge into contact or move to counterattack, nor may they fight in an assault. They may break off or consolidate. Passengers take no part in an assault while they remain in their vehicles.

The only exception is the german rule "Mounted Assault".

BUT ! If your unit is assaulted, your may conduct defensive fire ( with your excellents specials US rules ), and, if you 're still alive, you may dismount your passengers for the counterattack. (P. 86 --> Passengers)

SO, you go close to the ennemi (more than 5 cm), you shoot with every things you have. Then, you wait that the ennemi assault you. ( It's like a fish party Cool )

Don't forget that passengers may dismount prior to to the transport team moving, a transport cannot move before unloading passengers p.42

If you're waiting for conterattack don't forget that passengers in a vehicule that is destroyed in assault are also destroyed p.105

Of course, it's the risk but US half-tracks have a lot of weapon on board and every team can shoot with a great fire power. Shocked

Another question on Half tracks. According to the mounting HMGs and LMGs rule, two teams mounted on a half track can fit their HMG or LMG on the sides of the vehicle. Is this really useful? in an armored infantry platoon this applies only to one vehicle: the one which carries the two LMG teams!

Is it very useful because you can shoot with extra dices...and you can make combat attachments to your haltrack platoon... Twisted Evil
