March 16: Flames of War Late War tournament @ Oberonn

On sunday 16th of march, Mountdoom.be organises:
The Last Stand,
A LATE WAR Flames of War tournament.

Achtung! We’re playing in a slightly different format:
The first round will be a 600 pts. battle (to get in the mood). The second and third round are normal 1500 pts. battles.

Where?
Organised in and hosted by Oberonn, Kempische Steenweg 27 - 3500 Hasselt.

When?
The tournament is held on the 16th of march 2008. The first battle starts at 10.30h sharp! (please be there 15 minutes earlier).

Cost?
Participation is free.

Registration?
Please register at tomas@mountdoom.be

Army lists?
The army lists have to be verified beforehand (remember you need 2 army lists: a 600 pts. list and a 1500 pts. list). You can mail your lists to tomas@mountdoom.be.
I would like to have all lists by the 9th of march 2008.

For those of you who remember the tournament of last year: this is a new one, following the same concept. Only this time in late war, so you can all roll out the REALLY big guns!

And for the main comment I heard last year (very little Flemisch players): I’m working on that. People are being hassled, threatened and bribed as we speak.

Oops, small mistake. That’s what you get when you take last year’s invitation and change it. You sometimes forget to change a month

It is the 16th of MARCH anyway.

Oh and Bazooka Joe, I’m very sure the kind people at Oberonn are more than willing to put up some balloons to make it more festive for your kid

Late war OK , but which books are accepted :

Dday-1, DDay, Omaha, Festung europa, Villers-le-Boccage, Meatgrinder , Omaha....

All books for late war are accepted. As you may remember from last year, I don’t think historical correctness is that important in this kind of tournament. And I don’t want to give too much rules about what you can and what you can’t bring. The rule is really simple: if you guys don’t come up with very far-fetched armylists, I won’t have to say that you can’t use them.

This being said, there are off course some armies that are less usable in this kind of tournament. A US assault company from Bloody Omaha is very nice when you play a beach-scenario, but it is rather useless when you are using anything else. So maybe it’s better not to use them.

Well, here is very long overdue update on the tournament:

This makes 6 players in total. Sadly enough, Peter (the one who finished 2nd last year) won’t be able to make it as he is in Japan. Sadly, because now I can’t play either.

So if anyone here wants to help me out and come to enjoy a nice tournament (although tournaments obviously aren’t very popular anymore amongst a lot of you), you are more than welcome. You would make me very happy indeed.

Second battle (1500 pts): Hold the line

Third battle (1500 pts): The cauldron
